Short Description

  • Provide a means of safe vehicular transport for scheduled appointments within the health system. Drives vehicle to and from predetermined destinations obeying all traffic laws and regulations. Recognizes the need for and obtains BLS or ALS units when he/she comes upon a situation that would require these agencies. Deals effectively and ethically in greeting patients.
  • Provides proper patient identification prior to transport. Upon arrival, assure that the patient is at the proper destination/department. Assist patients in and out of the vehicle as needed.
  • Maintains proper Department of Motor Vehicle's required documentation. Keeps vehicles clean and reports all maintenance requests to the supervisor
  • Understands and applies customer relations skills. Maintains compliance concerning patient privacy (HIPAA) and dignity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience Required

  • Interpersonal skills must be developed; communicate clearly and effectively orally.
  • Ability to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Lift and carry and move heavy objects, ascend and descend stairs, ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have the dexterity of hand and fingers to utilize tools, utensils, and equipment.
  • Ability to audibly receive instructions and see and perceive depth with or without corrective lenses.

Education Requirements

High School Graduate or Equivalent.


License/Certification Requirements

  • BLS Required
  • Valid NJ Driver's License in good standing
Hourly Rate Min $16.5
Hourly Rate Max $17.5


The New Jersey Pay Transparency Act requires disclosure of the pay range for this position.

A salary offer will vary based on the job role, candidate experience, qualifications, internal pay equity and market data.
