Position Summary

The Director of Interest Rate Derivatives leads the structuring, pricing, and execution of interest rate derivative products for institutional or corporate clients. This role is pivotal in managing interest rate risk, developing hedging strategies, and supporting the firm's trading and risk management objectives. The director collaborates closely with trading desks, sales teams, and risk management functions. Duties & Responsibilities

Product Structuring & Execution:

  • Design and execute interest rate derivative strategies (e.g., swaps, options, futures) tailored to client needs.
  • Price and structure complex derivative transactions using quantitative models.

Client Advisory & Relationship Management:

  • Advise corporate and institutional clients on interest rate risk management.
  • Partner, engage and manage expectations of the bank's relationship management team throughout full corporate footprint.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support business development.

Risk Management & Analytics:

  • Monitor market trends and macroeconomic indicators affecting interest rates.
  • Work with risk teams to assess and manage exposure from derivative positions.

Model Development & Validation:

  • Collaborate with quantitative teams to develop and validate pricing and risk models.
  • Ensure models are integrated into trading and risk platforms.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to strategic planning and product innovation within the derivatives group.
Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

  • Deep understanding of related regulatory frameworks and credit risk management
  • Financial services, specifically within commercial banking
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills

Ability to:

  • Multi-task and work independently
  • Build relationships with internal partners and external financial institutions
  • Provide expertise in commercial lending, structured finance and capital markets execution within a regulated banking environment.
  • Analyze and solve problems
  • Review and negotiate operational and regulatory terms within legal loan documentation
  • Perform duties under frequent time pressures

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-10+ years of experience in interest rate derivatives trading, structuring, or quantitative modeling 1.
  • Strong background in financial markets, derivatives pricing, and risk management.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects - preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $125,000-$175,000/year)
