The opportunity

Michelin's Anderson, SC plant seeks team members to produce rubber for tires. We use the newest technology and materials. The Starr facility has an immediate opening for a candidate wanting to work in a manufacturing environment for a top-rated employer in the Upstate.

What you will do
  • Ensure quality progress performance in your area of responsibility.
  • Supervise and apply standard methodologies.
  • Work with Local R&D teams to help bring new materials (rubber compounds, Metallic/Textile Tissues, raw materials) to market.
  • Aid Manufacturing in fixing and resolving issues related to daily production.
  • Ensure delivered products align with quality planning models and are manufactured following obtention standards.
  • Align quality and efficiency performances with goals defined by the shop. Apply right the first-time principles.
  • Ensure that Customer risks, product compliance, and quality performance risks are anticipated. Actions to reduce risks are implemented.
  • Analyze quality results (new products, materials, complaints, nonconformities, etc.) and identify the vital corrective actions.
  • Ensure all customer complaints are processed appropriately. Efficiency of implemented actions is demonstrated. Causes of anomalies and nonperformance are resolved and are incorporated into the progress plan.
  • Establish customer/supplier specifications and follow up on associated indicators..
  • Ensure mentoring of operators (including the quality correspondents) to improve application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation.
What you will bring
  • A BS or equivalent experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, or Chemical), Chemistry, or Physics.
  • The position is open to new college graduates; however, internships, co-ops, or previous work experience in a manufacturing environment are a plus.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with experience in resolving and root cause analysis for systems and processes.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office Tools and Power Bi.
