Reporting to the Stuart and Molly Sloan Precision Oncology Institute Scientific Program Manager, the Project Coordinator I will be responsible for coordinating clinical, research, and administrative activities in support of ongoing projects as part of the Sloan Precision Oncology Institute at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Projects will have a specific focus on precision oncology, including assisting in the management of the TakePART-NW (Patients And Research Together) research program, supporting ongoing genetics laboratory stewardship efforts to enhance access to germline and somatic testing for patients, and enabling research infrastructure for cancer related research.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Carry-out moderately complex clinical research assignments and provide workstream support for new and ongoing Sloan Precision Oncology Institute initiatives including the TakePART-NW research program.
  • Help ensure accurate participant records are maintained, input participant information into relevant databases (e.g.: Open Specimen), describe TakePART-NW to interested participants and ensure protocol specific activities are completed as outlined.
  • Provide administrative support for Genetics Laboratory Stewardship Service initiatives aimed to increase access to clinical genetic testing for Fred Hutch patients.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, taking minutes, and tracking action items for Genetics Laboratory Stewardship and Sloan Precision Oncology Institute initiatives.
  • Develop, edit, and maintain project administrative materials including project dashboards.
  • Assist Sloan Precision Oncology Institute team members in administrative tasks related to research symposia and precision oncology events.
  • Develop and or/present metrics, status updates and escalations to senior leadership, internal and external stakeholders, and Sloan Precision Oncology Institute team.
  • May coordinate the work of project team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supporting clinical and research projects to develop optimized/precision approaches for preventing and treating human cancers. Special skills and knowledge will be applied in coordinating project operations, developing methods and materials, and in carrying-out complex clinical research project responsibilities. This position requires flexibility in a rapidly changing environment, attention to detail and strong communication skills.



Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (BA/BS). Work experience can be substituted for education.
  • Minimum of three-years post-bachelor's or one-year post master's related project coordination experience in a research setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Background in Genomics.
  • Experience working directly with patients.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $31.21 to $46.80 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
