Dematic is seeking a seasoned and multifaceted Principal Solution Consultant with 15+ years of expertise in warehouse/distribution operations and material handling solutions to lead the creation of elegant, data-informed, "best in class" solutions, build tools and processes for the department, and mentor younger consulting and concepting team members. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $131,250 - $192,500 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications: This is What you Will do in This Role:
  • Lead and Mentor: Train and guide junior consultants and concepting teams, sharing insights and best practices across the department.

  • Architect Best-in-Class Solutions: Develop strategic automation concepts that align with customer operations, space, and flow-balancing performance with design elegance.

  • Interpret and Apply Data: Use raw customer data (e.g., SKU profiles, inventory levels) to define sizing requirements and recommend solution layouts. No deep analysis required-just the ability to apply results optimally to provide critical technical guidance where needed.

  • Design with Symmetry and Flow: Evaluate layouts for operational logic, spatial efficiency, and visual harmony. Make suggestions that improve both performance and user experience.

  • Develop Systems and Procedures: Build and improve internal systems and workflows to boost the consistency and efficiency of solution development.

  • Act as Strategic Troubleshooter: Embrace ambitious projects with confidence, providing quick, strategic support when issues arise.

  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: While primarily guiding the Solution Development (SD) team, you'll also engage across the organization to secure deeper technical expertise and fill knowledge gaps.

  • Act as a Trusted Advisor: Develop positive relationships with executive-level clients and top management, expertly presenting value propositions and strategic insights.

  • Champion Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and influence future operating strategies and technologies.

  • Support Sales Success: Present compelling solutions, support proposal development, and help close strategic deals.

What We are Looking For:
  • Industry Experience: Over 15 years in warehouse/distribution operations and material handling automation.

  • Leadership: 7+ years coaching and mentoring senior professionals and leading solution development initiatives.

  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of MHE principles and when to apply the right solution.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data analysis results and apply them to solution design.

  • Design Sensibility: Demonstrating an understanding of layout symmetry, flow, and operational logic.

  • Executive Presence: Confidence, poise, and clarity when engaging with senior collaborators.

  • Education: Bachelor's in Engineering or related field (Master's preferred). PMP or Lean certification is a plus.
