Corporate Counsel

SCS is a national engineering and construction company seeking corporate counsel. The corporate counsel will report to the General Counsel, and work with a team of lawyers. The candidate will be a seasoned attorney which is proactive, collaborative, and provide creative solutions in a dynamic environment. The candidate will have a broad base of experience and may be asked to handle contract drafting, review, and negotiation, litigation management, dispute resolution, multi-state licensing, and other corporate and employment law matters. The role is a hybrid role in our Reston, VA office.

You will handle contract drafting, review, and negotiation, litigation management, dispute resolution, multi-state licensing, and other corporate and employment law matters.

Law degree from ABA accredited law school and membership in good standing of any state bar required; State Bar of Virginia is preferred.

• Minimum of ten years of experience in the practice of law including private practice and in-house experience. Litigation management experience desired.

• In-depth knowledge of engineering and construction contracts, including significant experience reviewing, analyzing and negotiating contracts.

• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside non-attorney team members , attorneys, senior management and business associates.

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
