What you'll be doing...

As Principal Engineer in Full Stack Development, you will engage in the design, systems architecture, development, and testing of the VBG Assisted Sales & Ordering portfolio. This crucial role includes leading the migration of our current systems from the legacy stack to the new North Star Architecture (NSA), collaborating with numerous cross-functional and business teams, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for contributing to projects and developing and implementing processes and technologies that support our diverse business needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading detailed design and development of POS systems.

  • Working through the various phases of the Software Development Life cycle, analyzing the critical Production issues, and planning for proper resolution.

  • Defining and driving architecture, modernization and consolidation of legacy ordering systems.

  • Leading key Wireless Modules such as B360 Quote & Ordering across various channels includes Telesales, Retail, Indirect and B2B Market.

  • Driving strategic oversight, cross functional team collaboration, vendor governance for Quote, Ordering & Product Enablement Organization.

  • Driving enhancements and tools to improve Sales & Ordering experience in close collaboration with Sales Leadership, Solution Architects, Sales Support, Channel leaders and Retail /Telesales.

  • Significantly reducing application Tech Debt Footprint & Improve SRE Monitoring within the team for successful retail season and iconic launches.

  • Ensuring compliance and security for our systems.

  • Providing ideas to cross-functional teams from multiple vendors to develop innovative solutions by bringing industry-leading cutting-edge technology and solutions, specifically for TMForum APIs, OSS Implementation, and much more.

  • Championing technology innovations through Hackathons, Ideathons and various other crowdsourcing activities.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience with technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, HTML/CSS, ReactJS.

  • Experience with Large Scale Distributed Systems development.

  • Experience with offshore development teams.

  • Experience with Client stake-holdering and regular updates to Senior Leadership.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.

  • Experience with Rabbit-MQ, SQL, Kibana, Redis and Grafana.

  • Experience with networking, applications, infrastructure, or database architectures.

  • Knowledge of Verizon Business products including Wireless.

  • Experience with innovative application of data- and metric-driven performance management to lower cost and drive efficiency.

  • Experience developing applications and API frameworks to enable large-scale efficiencies.

  • Experience to lead complex projects by bringing together the right perspectives, identifying roadblocks, and integrating feedback from clients and team members.

  • Experience with leading and participating in performance tests identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands for product launches.

  • Experience in noSQL databases like Cassandra.

  • Experience developing highly available and scalable applications in AWS.

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, JIRA).

  • AWS and Kubernetes/OCP certification.

  • Knowledge of of security best practices, and OWASP vulnerabilities.

  • Experience leading and mentoring multiple teams and products.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $120,500.00 - $231,000.00.
