Driver II / Security II

JOB SUMMARY

Qualified commercial driver transports passengers in bus / van or car to local or distant points according to times scheduled by performing the following duties. Also includes Security II responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

*Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.

*Drives bus, van or car to transport residents and guests over a specified route according to assigned time schedule.

*Drives bus, van or car to transport passengers for special events and activities to local or distant points for activity department as needed.

*Assists residents on and off the vehicle as required. Assists with loading packages on and off the bus as needed.

*Maintains contact with residents in order to schedule, confirm, and adjust appointments as needed.

*Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for resident comfort. Inspects bus daily before departure by using a pre-trip/post-trip inspection form.

*Ensures the vehicle is in good operating order and reports any problems to supervisor.

*Routinely cleans interior and exterior of bus and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants and accessories.

*Follows and is well aware of all laws and procedures of operating a commercial vehicle. Reports delays or accidents. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.

*Maintains current service records of all vehicles in the fleet. Keeps records pertaining to daily inspections, routing, CHP inspections and mileage computations.

*Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs.

*Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.

*Attends all mandatory in-service meetings. Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures.

Security Responsibilities:

Security II

JOB SUMMARY

Provides security services for residents and employees of the organization. Protects from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties. Has additional responsibilities to train security staff and be sure other command center staff is aware of emergency procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

*Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.

*Responsible for training new security staff and must be qualified to work any shift necessary (as determined by the security manager) to accomplish this task.

*Periodically patrols outside grounds of campus and lobbies, corridors and public rooms of the facility to ensure safety and security of residents and staff.

*Graciously warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and advises reports or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.

*Assist Care Center with emergency maintenance issues or resident concerns, responds to fire alarms, emergency call switch activation and other emergencies.

*Assist clinic when necessary including escorting nurses and lifting residents who fall and direct medical personnel on the scene of the emergency.

*Investigates and completes resident loss reports and incident reports during each shift, gives copies to supervisor and maintains a file on them.

*Performs emergency janitorial duties and maintenance duties when needed, sets thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms.

*Review emergency response procedures with nursing staff and front desk staff when necessary because that staff may be new or may be from an agency and unfamiliar with the facilities established procedures.

*Demonstrates competency in all aspects of security issues as determined by the security supervisor.

*May be required to drive company non-commercial vehicles.

*Familiar with all disaster, fire and other emergency procedures as outlined in facility disaster plan.

*Perform emergency delivery procedures, place flyers on resident doors or campus-wide.

*Performs other duties as required which may arise, unforeseen duties may arise.

*Follows department safety standards, practice correct body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs.

*Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. *1-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*Must possess current First Aid/CPR proficiency certificate, have a valid driver's license and a current DMV print-out with less than 3 points meeting company driving standards to be an authorized driver of company vehicles.

*Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

*Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

*Ability to analyze situations and present observations and recommendations to supervisor and other staff; ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized and non -standardized situations.

*Must possess a valid Class B California driver's license including passenger endorsement and valid medical certificate. Driving record must meet approval of Front Porch insurance requirement. Enrolled in Mandatory Commercial Drivers random drug testing program. California DMV Pull notice program.

*Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write general correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

*Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
