Precise Systems seeks a Biomanufacturing Research Scientist to provide support for applied synthetic biology efforts, specifically at the interface between biological engineering and prototyping.


Duties:



  • Deliver general support to other branch efforts which includes protein engineering, molecular biology, and biochemical assays
  • Perform with a relatively high degree of autonomy, learning new skills and troubleshooting their own work as the projects progress
  • Collaborate with other on-site scientists, as well as maintain collaborations with other federal and non-federal partners


Required Education:



  • PhD degree in Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field
  • A Ph.D. with practical hands-on experience in a synthetic-biology associated field is required for this position


Required Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in biotechnology laboratory setting.
  • Experience flow reactor technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other research teams
  • Ability to assist with other duties as assigned
  • Ability to complete additional training as assigned


Desired Experience:



  • Experience with cell-free and cell-based fermentation.
  • Experience with protein engineering, molecular biology, and biochemical assays.


Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $86,190.40 to $90,258.60 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
