We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Solution Architect, to join our Digital Assets Platform. This role is located in New York, New York - ONSITE/Hybrid (4-day in office/1 day optional remote) In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead the definition and high-level design of architectural solutions for the platform; develop proof-of-concepts and explore alternatives to support architectural decisions and planning activities
- Synchronize architectural solutions across pods, resolve differences and dependencies, and manage interdependencies with other platform architectures
- Coordinate with Platform Group Leads to create reusable and scalable architectural components aligned with the technical roadmap
- Monitor and report project and application status to ensure alignment with strategic direction, industry standards, and best practices
- Ensure compliance of solutions and designs with technology domain architecture standards
- Aggregate and analyze architecture-related operational reports, KPIs, and KRIs for the platform
- Provide guidance to technology teams and business partners on architectural options considering cost, risk, and delivery timelines
- Anticipate architectural issues and identify emerging industry trends to keep the platform future-focused
- Collaborate with Platform Group Leads to navigate change management tollgates, including architectural design peer reviews
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in technology and architecture roles required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
- hands-on technical experience demonstrating breadth and depth in roles such as Developer and Code Reviewer
- Expertise in APIs and API design, security design, resiliency design, performance tuning, capacity engineering, microservices architecture, testing frameworks, and data architecture
- Experience leading enterprise-scale project from build through launch, production readiness, and lessons learned
- Strong technical architect skills with proven leadership and influence among engineering teams
- Experience with crypto technologies and cloud architecture (e.g., Azure compute, load balancing, scalability)
- Proficiency in software design patterns, testable and maintainable code, strong SDLC practices, and Agile methodologies
- Ability to coordinate effectively across business and technology stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
