JOB SUMMARY Works under the supervision of a Department Director to provide essential leadership to department team members and support achievement of department and system-wide goals and objectives. The role is majority remote, but may require in-person onsite engagement several times per month. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Management Science, Engineering, Nursing, Social Sciences, or similar degree
- Experience
5 years work experience and 1 year experience with quality improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, High Reliability Organizations and/or other improvement methodologies, with working knowledge of process improvement methods, statistical process control techniques and database applications. Additional degrees or related experience may be used in lieu of work experience on a year for year basis.

JOB DUTIES
- Provides direct supervision of staff and evaluates staff through observation of performance.
- Responsible for hiring, developing, and engaging staff. Provides timely, confidential coaching and/or counseling of personnel and communicates with Department Director as appropriate.
- Ensures competency of employees and performs annual evaluations.
- Identifies learning needs and opportunities of staff and addresses the need.
- Identifies, supports, and implements cross-training of staff in collaboration with the department directors.
- Serves as a resource and communication liaison by facilitating timely and accurate dissemination of information to Quality & OpEx staff.
- Demonstrates continuous performance improvement in targeted areas of responsibility in alignment with the overall Health System performance goals and responsibilities.
- Utilizes chain of command for unresolved or escalating issues, as needed.
- Promotes and supports professional growth of staff by providing equal opportunities for participation in department activities, team decisions, Health System committees, and/or continuing education.
- Responsible for maintaining/improving/implementing plans for employee engagement scores.
- Supports achievement of Quality and OpEx, as well as system-wide goals and objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
