- Responsible for identifying and documenting quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Facilitates the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of the company's products.
- Leads the preparation and execution of internal audits within established manufacturing and production controls to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications and standards.
- Liaises with auditing groups and inspectors to develop formal written reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Identifies trends in discrepancies and collaborates with process owners on refining and optimizing business processes.
- Oversees testing department activities and the work of inspectors.
- Reviews, approves, and controls work order flow tags.
- Develops inspection techniques, tools, and supplemental inspection instructions in support of standards, methods, and procedures.
- Participates in supplier corrective and preventative actions, including customer escapes, process nonconformities, supplier corrective actions, customer and change control, and material review board meetings.
- Manage projects or processes with general supervision.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside their department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Responsible for managing the quality portion of complex projects at this level, involving review of work products.
- Communicates within and outside of their own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (customers, vendors) when necessary.
- Responsible for continuous improvement focus and Zero Defect Plan (ZDP) execution.
- Will execute with Program Management, IPTs, and Quality Leadership to report status and process improvements.
- Partners with other functions to efficiently resolve issues without compromising quality.
- Contributes to achieving departmental goals and operating plans, directly impacting the departmental results.
- Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.
