Come join the OBGYN team at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion! Our clinic has a diverse group of team members to include CMAs, LPNs, RNs, Sonographers, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives who work together to provide exceptional patient-centered care. We care for patients across the life span for their GYN health needs, as well as care for them throughout the duration of their pregnancy and postpartum. Some of our providers also have niche specialties to include family planning, addiction medicine, high risk needs, and abortion services. We are dedicated to providing our patients the highest quality of care in a safe environment and share a passion for women's health. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. No weekends, holidays, nights, or on-call shifts are required.

The LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.

The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions."

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare Association.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare Association.

AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent

Experience REQUIRED:
One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if individual is not a graduate of a medical assistant program
No work experience if individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program
Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e-mail, etc.
Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills

Experience PREFERRED:
Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
Previous experience in an academic health care environment

Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Education/training PREFERRED:
Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

Independent action(s) required:
Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor: time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care which deviates from standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs.
Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.

Additional position requirements:
Certified Medical Assistants work all three shifts, weekends and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet clinic requirements and/or as needed.
