The Nurse Practitioner will plan, direct, and evaluate employee health care in Occupational Health; examine employees to determine their ability to perform the essential functions of their job; performs selected laboratory testing; offer referrals to physicians, write prescriptions, and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. Provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based advanced practice nursing care to workers in a health care setting through an inter-professional approach to treatment, education and advocacy. Nurse Practitioners are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury primarily arising from the work environment. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the participating organizations State Board of Nursing and Johns Hopkins Health System policy.

Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital. May need to occasionally cover OH Clinics at Howard County Medical Center and Suburban Hospital.

Work Schedule: Mainly Days, 7:30 - 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:



  • Completion of Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Completion of accredited NP program in area of specialty (e.g. Adult, Family, Geriatrics or Occupational Medicine).
  • Certification through American Board of Occupational Health Nursing (ABOHN) as a Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum $56.34/hour - Maximum $87.32/hour plus an 8% geographical differential. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
