JOB SUMMARY

The Manager - Accounting is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations including ownership of general ledger relating to capital assets. The manager will help assist the director in managing capital asset processes required to complete the timely and accurate closing of the business cycle; preparation of operational, financial, statutory and regulatory reporting. Owns measurement of trends and variance analysis; budgeting; and participation in capital asset financial activities such as implementation of financial and accounting policies, ERP system, procedures, and programs for the hospital.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
  • Records, reviews, approves, and transmits financial transactions in accordance with regulatory and internal controls. Manages the monthly close process as well as journal entries and corresponding balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manages daily financial transactions. Interprets and applies GAAP and regulatory decisions in recording of transactions, documenting accounting policies, as well as providing accounting guidance to various operating units and assessing impact to the financial statements.
  • Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
  • Manges capital assess planning and budgeting. Prepares and reviews budget to actual capital project reports reflecting monthly, yearly, and inception-to-date results. Oversees the development of business plans and provides financial analysis associated with business plans and any other capital requests.
  • Coordinates with Information Technology (IT) department on projects and transmission of data.
  • Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
  • Implements policies and procedures for the preparation, maintenance, and control of hospital's budgetary, accounting, and related fiscal activities to ensure compliance with current legislation and regulations; maintains liaison with State and Federal agencies regarding pending or recently enacted legislation or regulations.
  • Reviews accounting processes and identifies areas of improvement across and within processes
  • Performs supervisory functions by interviewing, selecting and providing training for new staff; by approving or disapproving recommendations from subordinate staff on personnel actions; by evaluating subordinates' performance; by hearing and resolving employee grievances; and by determining the need for and initiating disciplinary action in order to ensure adequate and competent staffing for the agency, program, division or institution.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
License/Certification: CPA (or equivalent) required (active or inactive) for complex accounting area positions; preferred for other areas.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $67.80 to $89.91
