Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Maintenance Pipefitter to support our maintenance operations in an industrial plant environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial piping systems, with a strong understanding of plant safety protocols and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
This role is essential to maintaining the mechanical integrity of our plant infrastructure, with daily tasks that include fabricating pipe systems, interpreting technical drawings, and performing system testing to ensure compliance and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate, install, and repair piping systems using isometric drawings, blueprints, and field sketches.
Perform cutting, threading, beveling, and welding prep on various pipe materials (carbon steel, stainless, alloy, etc.).
Support hydraulic, pneumatic, and process systems throughout the facility.
Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests to verify system integrity.
Accurately lay out pipe routes based on field conditions or drawings.
Operate pipe fabrication tools and equipment, including threading machines, benders, saws, and grinders.
Work safely on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and in confined spaces as required.
Ensure compliance with all plant safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
Assist in creating pipe material take-offs and identifying required components.
Properly clean, decontaminate, and handle equipment used in hazardous service areas.
Complete daily reports and provide clear updates to supervision regarding progress and issues.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 8-10+ years of experience in industrial settings such as refineries, petrochemical plants, or chemical manufacturing.
Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, and field routing sketches.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using trade tools such as threading machines, torque wrenches, grinders, pneumatic tools, and pipe measurement instruments.
Safety Knowledge: Familiar with job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, twist, and work in elevated or tight spaces.
Work Environment:
Location: Industrial plant environment-chemical, petrochemical, or refinery.
Conditions: Exposure to high temperatures, noise, chemicals, and physically demanding work areas.
PPE: Must wear all required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, FR clothing, and potentially chemical suits and breathing air.
Schedule: Full-time; overtime, shift work, and weekend availability may be required.
