Under the supervision of the GM - Water Quality, this role will manage the Ballast Water Accounts outside of China, the sales representative in China, and the Navy account. Position is responsible for managing the marine accounts and customer relationships, coordinating customer needs, managing price increases, and growing the business.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Responsible for growing and managing sales in the Marine sector, focusing on Ballast Water accounts within HF Scientific and the marine and US DOD accounts for AERCO/PVI.
  • Experience and familiarity with DOD processes and Government accounts.
  • Works with Regional Sales Managers and GM Water Quality to manage account relationships by resolving major sales and customer service issues.
  • Direct and indirect responsibility for managing and developing sales activities for HF Scientific products as well as other Watts Applied Solutions products and services in the Marine sector.
  • Enforces Watts policies to maintain the highest profit margins while providing customer support.
  • Gathers market and competitor information and forwards to Marketing and factory Sales groups. Additionally, ensures that GM - Water Quality and VP Sales are updated with competitor's information as it becomes available.
  • Represents Company at professional societies to promote Company's technology and product.
  • Provides generic industry related presentations as required.
  • Provides subject matter expertise, specification, and applications support to customers.
  • Supports Sales Team budget by using good financial sense in support of growth.
  • Manages own expenses in accordance with the budget and team guidelines.
  • Entertains customers in compliance with corporate guidelines.
  • Participates on special inter-company projects and assignments.
  • Prepares standard monthly sales report showing current sales volume, potential pipeline and forecasted sales.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all Company products.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Engineering or Marine Science preferred
  • 3+ years in account management or direct sales
  • 5+ years total sales experience

  • Demonstrated experience in selling instruments, HVAC equipment, negotiating, and public presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in selling based on return on investment (ROI) and value, as opposed to first cost.
  • Extensive knowledge of company products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills applicable to a sales-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires ability to travel (approx. 30%)
