Job Summary The Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations is responsible for oversight, collaborative planning, coordination, and execution of a comprehensive stewardship and donor relations program for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. As part of Institutional Advancement, the Associate Director collaborates with a broad range of advancement colleagues to manage and execute projects focused on donor relations, donor recognition and stewardship. The position will provide project management and expertise to advance initiatives that strengthen donor confidence, enhance the donor experience, and increase donor satisfaction and retention. The successful candidate is a creative problem-solver, demonstrating a thorough understanding of donor relations and stewardship principles and advancement services functions. Fluency with financial documents, fund management, financial record- keeping, and demonstrated proficiency in Banner or an equivalent development database is required. Attention to detail and oversight of high-quality deliverables is also required. The ideal candidate should also possess excellent writing, project management, communication and problem-solving skills. With specialized research centers and strengths focused on population health, neuroscience, cancer, metabolic disease, lung disease, and inflammation, infectious diseases including HIV, cardiovascular disease, substance abuse, and translational science, Katz conducts investigations to break new ground and trains future generations of researchers to follow suit. In addition to its Philadelphia campus, Katz has a four-year regional campus in Bethlehem, PA-the St. Luke's University Health Network-Bethlehem. The Katz School of Medicine also provides opportunities for international students through educational affiliation agreements with universities worldwide. Visiting medical students may take up to two rotations within the program, and they must be full-time students in their final year of medical school. Requirements/Qualifications Required Education and Experience *Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience working in donor relations/stewardship, preferably in a higher education setting. *Equivalent experience in advancement services, fundraising, alumni engagement or advancement communications may be considered. *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities *Fluency with financial documents, fund management, financial record- keeping, and demonstrated proficiency in Banner or an equivalent development database is required. *Attention to detail and oversight of high-quality deliverables is also required. *Excellent writing, project management, communication and problem-solving skills. *Works successfully within a cross-functional, interdisciplinary, research-driven, and goal-focused Environment. *Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain cooperation. Essential Functions *Drive strategy for an impactful stewardship program that elevates impact and enhances donor experience at all giving levels. *Work closely with Katz fundraisers to develop and implement customized stewardship strategies for major gift prospects and key donors. *Manage stewardship calendar in collaboration with fundraisers and key Katz leadership for special projects and initiatives. *Collaborate with physicians and researchers to produce high-quality and visually appealing donor impact reports on complex scientific and medical topics. *Support high-level and customized acknowledgement process, crafting impactful correspondence on behalf of Katz leadership. *Serve as expert with donors and staff on fund management, fund creation, complex gift agreements. *Support the planning and execution of stewardship recognition events and activities to enhance alumni and constituent engagement. *Oversee highly personalized stewardship process and reporting cycle for scholarship donors, including programming support for signature stewardship event. *Lead donor recognition projects, including portraits and plaquing. *Support Katz Institutional Advancement with focus on donor-centric approaches, best practices, and processes for quality control and enhanced donor experience. *Support ad hoc financial reporting in response to donor and fundraiser inquiries. *Coordinate and execute annual Katz donor financial reporting projects, in collaboration with University. *Support gift fund troubleshooting for donors in consultation with University partners (Gift administration, Finance, Student Financial Service) *Manage other projects and duties as assigned. This position requires a background check. This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
