Position Overview:

The Sr. Manager, Market Development will lead the GeoTargeting approach for the U.S. NW&PB division. This role is focused on transforming key metropolitan areas-where premium water consumers live, work, and shop-into high-impact brand ecosystems. Six priority markets represent 45% of the division's total revenue and have driven 80% of its growth over the past five years. The GeoTargeting program plays a critical role in unlocking this potential by localizing national brand strategies to ensure cultural relevance at the market level, elevating HoReCa (Hotel/Restaurant/Cafe) initiatives, and amplifying retail execution locally to accelerate penetration and overall business growth. The Sr. Manager will oversee a team of 20+ employees and contractors, and manage relationships with external agencies, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of both marketing and sales initiatives across key markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership
Lead and inspire a large, geographically dispersed team with responsibilities spanning both marketing and sales. Ensure alignment, performance, and motivation across different markets and roles, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Long-Term Growth Strategy
Define the 3-year strategic development plan for GeoTargeting within the MBS framework by evaluating market attractiveness and competitive advantage. Determine where to deepen presence in existing markets and where to expand into new geographies, along with the approach to do so.
  • Integrated Marketing & Sales Planning
Lead the end-to-end marketing and sales strategy for GeoTargeted markets, through the Market Development Managers (MDMs), in alignment with overall brand objectives. Key focus areas include local influencer engagement, digital and social amplification, localized advertising, experiential activations, and strategic sponsorships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with the NWPB Brand Marketing team to co-develop market-specific communication plans. Collaborate with HoReCa, Retail Sales, and Channel Development teams to ensure integrated and impactful local market initiatives.
  • Support for Strategic Accounts
Work with Sales Account Managers to elevate sub-channel strategies across Immediate Consumption, HoReCa, E-Commerce, and Grocery within GeoTargeted regions.
  • Sales Execution Excellence
Drive execution in trade via local MDMs and contractor teams to enhance brand visibility-focusing on availability, secondary placement, shelf space, POS visibility, and BBE execution. Develop tailored retail amplification programs with local NIM sales teams for flawless execution.
  • Effective Resource & Budget Management
Strategically allocate team time, investments, and focus to deliver GeoTargeting objectives. Own and manage the program budget, ensuring resources are aligned with strategic priorities and optimized for maximum impact. Apply a business case/test-and-learn approach and collaborate with local experiential partners and the GeoTargeting agency to drive efficient execution and measurable results.
  • Operational Efficiency
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of GeoTargeting teams and processes.
  • Performance Measurement & ROI
Define and track clear KPIs for GeoTargeting initiatives. Use data-driven insights to evaluate marketing and sales effectiveness, adjust tactics, and ensure a strong return on investment across priority markets.
  • Innovation & Market Expansion
Continuously explore and propose new, innovative approaches and untapped opportunities to expand reach and accelerate growth in high-potential markets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing and/or sales in a premium CPG brand, ideally with a balanced background in both functions and within channel-driven environments, particularly Out of Home.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of varying seniority levels, including remotely located and cross-functional teams. Able to inspire high performance and lead through influence, even without direct authority.
  • Strong strategic thinker with curiosity, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change with a continuous improvement approach.
  • Solid financial acumen with a clear understanding of P&L levers and business drivers.
  • Effective communicator and presenter, able to influence and engage at all levels-including senior leadership and external partners.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, both internally across functions and externally with key stakeholders and customers.
  • Skilled in negotiation and decision-making, with a track record of achieving planned outcomes and championing strategic initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel 10-20% across the U.S.
