Montefiore Health System is seeking a Senior Application Analystwith expertise in Epic to support key patient engagement initiatives, including Epic Secure Chat, MyChart (patient portal), Epic mobile applications, and Telehealth solutions / Patient Engagement technologies. This position plays a critical role in the configuration, implementation, and ongoing optimization of these platforms to enhance digital communication between patients and providers. The Senior Application Analyst will work cross-functionally with Epic application teams, clinical and operational stakeholders, and technical teams to support strategic growth and performance improvement across Montefiore's digital engagement ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to the design, build, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Epic applications, with a focus on Epic MyChart, Hello World, Haiku, Canto, Rover, Secure Chat as well as Telehealth platforms.
- Perform workflow analysis, data collection, and system design to meet business and clinical needs.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and lead root cause analyses in collaboration with Epic support and internal teams.
- Translate operational requirements into technical specifications and support documentation.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate enhancement requests and ensure alignment with system architecture and user experience goals.
- Provide input on project planning, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Collaborate with project leads and team members on major go-lives, upgrades, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Participate in design and peer review sessions to ensure high-quality deliverables and compliance with standards.
- Stay current with Epic best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Provide on-call support on a rotating basis, including occasional on-site support at Montefiore hospitals and affiliates.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Epic certification in at least one of the following: MyChart and in either Epic Ambulatory or Inpatient (ClinDoc, Orders, etc.). (If not currently certified in MyChart, certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Epic, including implementation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and post-go-live optimization.
- Proven ability to work on multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing project demands.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Meeting all requirements for Epic certification is a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Epic Strings Managerfor customizing patient-facing messaging.
- Basic proficiency in HTMLfor formatting patient portal content and communications.
- Technical proficiency in programming, scripting, or interface development is a plus.
- Clinical application experience in Epic Ambulatory, Epic ClinDoc, or Epic MyChart.
- Experience with Epic MyChart deployment and support.
- Epic mobile applications (Haiku, Canto, Rover) and Telehealth tools.
