Job Description: Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Long-term Intern to join our Occupational Health & Safety team based in Grand Prairie, TX. In this role you'll assist the Safety Department in supporting a wide range of Safety activities including written program revision, program development, maintaining Safety Data Sheets, etc. Your Working Environment: A suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is home to Airbus Helicopters U.S. regional headquarters, where we have more than 1,000 employees. Your Challenges: Safety Program Support 100%
Provides administrative support for the Safety Department, assists with day-to-day activities Assists with the coordination of various Safety programs, activities, events, and initiatives Conducts research, prepares and maintains spreadsheets, drafts presentations, and prepares material for the Safety team Assists with ad hoc analysis and reporting Assists with tracking, auditing, and updating various safety initiatives Assists in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations primarily concerning OSHA and EPA Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Requires regular and punctual employee attendance

Must be currently local to DFW metro area as this is a long-term, onsite internship opportunity High school diploma or GED Current enrollment in college/university in area related to safety, industrial operations, or business program focus. Must possess a high degree of accuracy in multiple facets of the job such as, record keeping, etc. Strong organization skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to work on multiple projects Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Excel, Word and Power Point skills Knowledge of Google Workspace (G-Suite) apps a plus Authorized to Work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship
Physical Requirements:
Onsite: Available during 1st shift daytime operations in Grand Prairie at least 20 hours per week. Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings on a daily basis. Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms on a daily basis. Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications on a daily basis. Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts on an as-needed basis. Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs on a daily basis. Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs on a daily basis. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools on a daily basis. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer on a daily basis. Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving on a daily basis. Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor on a daily basis. Travel: none. Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces on a daily basis. Personal Protective Equipment required: Occasionally may be required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection if visiting the shop floor.
