SUMMARY OF DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

1. Performs technical work within the individual's specialized area of technical expertise. Also may perform other general technical work.
2. Allowed broad discretionary judgment in the area of the individual's specialized technical expertise, but limited amounts of discretionary judgment in other areas.
3. Performs work of some higher technical level for training purposes - work is screened to ensure correct application of scientific principles.
4. Work is supervised by an engineer or manager.
5. May work within a project team.
6. May supervise technicians.
7. Travel may be required.
8. Performs other duties and tasks as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Education/Experience meeting one of the following:
o The equivalent of a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or technical field related to the department of assignment or industry and three years' experience in a specialized technical field related to the department/project of assignment or industry.
o The equivalent of an Associate Degree in Engineering or technical field related to the department of assignment or industry and five years' experience in a specialized technical field related to the department/project of assignment or industry.
o A High School Diploma plus seven years' experience in a specialized technical field related to the department/project of assignment or industry.
* Demonstrated computer skills:
o Windows, Spreadsheet and Word Processing required.
o Other specialized software associated with this individual's specialized skills, such as CAD.
* Demonstrated use of Instruments and/or Hand and Power tools associated with this individual's specialized skills.

Infectious Control Risk Category II:

The risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs. Risk category II states employment and procedures that may require exposure.
