We're looking for a Director of State Level Sales to drive significant revenue growth by securing state funding for Savvas products. This strategic role is all about developing and executing a state-based sales strategy, building key relationships, and influencing policy to unlock new markets and dramatically increase sales. You'll partner closely with our Government Affairs team to ensure our initiatives directly translate into sales success.
Key Responsibilities
Forge High-Impact Partnerships: Initiate and close high-value sales deals by building strategic partnerships with governors, influential legislative leaders, and state education agencies. Your goal is to drive widespread product adoption and substantial sales growth.
Lead Cross-Divisional Sales Alignment: Ensure all government affairs initiatives are directly aligned with our corporate sales objectives to maximize market penetration and revenue.
Identify and Capitalize on Opportunities: Proactively monitor legislative and regulatory changes at the state level. You'll provide timely, actionable sales updates to leadership to ensure we're first to market on emerging opportunities.
Manage Sales-Focused Projects: Lead state-level projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and directly contribute to achieving sales targets.
Aggressively Advocate for Sales: Represent the company at state meetings and conferences to champion our products and initiatives, positioning them for optimal sales success.
Develop Compelling Sales Campaigns: Collaborate with internal teams to create advocacy campaigns and materials that directly support and accelerate sales efforts.
Measure and Maximize Sales ROI: Track and analyze key sales metrics to measure the direct revenue impact of state initiatives. You'll use this data to adjust strategies and maximize return on investment (ROI) and sales volume.
Proactively Influence Policy: Strategically influence state policies and regulations to create lucrative market opportunities and significantly increase product sales.
Secure Funding and Expand Sales Channels: Engage with state education agency leadership to get our products included as fundable options within state ESSA Title IV-A and Perkins/Workforce CTE plans. This will require extensive travel to close these crucial opportunities.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required.
10+ years of proven experience in developing and executing successful multi-agency state sales initiatives with a clear and demonstrable impact on revenue generation.
A track record of planning and managing activities that help an organization achieve its sales goals by coordinating cross-divisional efforts and executing programs that directly lead to sales growth.
Experience in Government Affairs, including working with local, state, and national officials, with a history of converting these relationships into tangible business outcomes.
