Overview

This role is a remote role and will be located in North Carolina.

The Credit Policy and Governance Sustainability Lead is a member of a dynamic team empowering FCB's credit risk function, supporting the establishment and maintenance of Credit policy and governance standards across the First Citizens Bank enterprise. This role will report to the Director of Credit Policy and Governance, developing the credit administration protocols focused on policy integration and consolidation, procedural documentation, and preparing governance documentation. The Core responsibility is facilitating first line and second line stakeholders' interaction during Credit Policies, Standards and Procedures enhancement needed to ensure credit documents keep aligned and are maintained concurrent with changing business practices, acquisitions, and changes to applicable credit portfolio management regulations. This position will be critical in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting credit risk documentation initiatives.

This position requires a thorough understanding of credit risk management practices, and procedures, and a high-level understanding of the complex lines of business and regulatory requirements of a Category IV Large Financial Institution. The successful candidate requires strong technical writing skills certified, project management experience in credit documentation transformation, training management, change management, and stakeholders' management skills.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate - Credit policy, standard, and procedure change management including drafting, reviews, and communication.
  • Risk Management & Execution - Execute Credit Policy and Standards maintenance plan to provide progressive enhancement, following prior credit quality assurance need improvements identified.
  • Collaboration - Facilitate stakeholders' interaction during Credit Policies, and Standards enhancement to ensure Credit Governance documents keep credit risk management consistency and compliance with the new Enterprise Risk Management documents oversight program requirements. (Workiva implementation, Policy on policies, risk transformation).
  • Process Improvement - Develop credit technical writing style, terminology alignment across credit governance documents, and facilitate training to stakeholders as part of documentation credit governance sustainability.
  • Manage the tracking, monitoring, presentation materials and reporting of credit policies and standards enhancement at the project level assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Credit Risk, Credit Administration, and Risk Management

OR

High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Credit Risk, Credit Administration, and Risk Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing Workiva
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Audit, or Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, first line and second lines of defense and risk controls.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, documentation writing skills, and project management skills.
  • Credit policies development, and maintenance, process enhancement, transformation projects, Banking regulations reporting and sustainability.
