General Summary
Our bio-med research facility is seeking a part-time Concierge with a strong commitment to service excellence and security. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, internal staff, and stakeholders, ensuring a welcoming environment while upholding stringent security protocols. Reporting directly to the Internal Security Department, you will play a vital role in balancing outstanding customer service with an uncompromising commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Frontline Reception & Guest Services:
- Greet and welcome visitors, employees, and contractors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Manage the visitor check-in and registration process, ensuring proper identification and adherence to the facility's security protocols.
- Provide accurate information regarding facility layout, schedules, and local amenities as needed.
Security Coordination & Reporting:
- Collaborate closely with the Internal Security Department to monitor and enforce access control policies.
- Log entry/exit details and any security-related observations, promptly reporting any irregularities or incidents.
- Assist in implementing emergency protocols including evacuation procedures and locking down areas when necessary.
Communication & Coordination:
- Serve as a liaison between visitors, internal departments, and the security team.
- Coordinate deliveries and mail, ensuring that all items are correctly screened and documented.
- Facilitate smooth internal communications during events and routine operations, maintaining a secure and organized front environment.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain detailed activity logs and records of visitor interactions, security incidents, and maintenance of key areas.
- Help schedule appointments, manage conference room bookings, and support related administrative tasks.
- Ensure that common areas remain neat and secure, and coordinate with maintenance as needed.
Citizenship
- This position requires US citizenship
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
Educational & Professional Background:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED; additional education or certifications in hospitality, security, or related fields are a plus.
- 1 year of previous experience in a concierge, front desk, or customer service role, especially within a high-security or research environment.
Security & Compliance:
- Understanding of, or willingness to be trained in, strict security protocols associated with federally contracted facilities.
- Ability to pass comprehensive background checks and obtain any necessary security clearances.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly yet professional demeanor.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with visitor management systems and the use of digital logbooks.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to quickly learn proprietary systems related to facility operations and security.

Schedule:
- Full-time position with shifts that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays-flexibility is essential.
