Summary
As a Field Crane Service Technician Lead, you will be directing a team, responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in heavy equipment, specializing in crane operations. Your core diagnostics skills, electrical knowledge, and heavy equipment operation will be essential in maintaining, inspecting, and servicing cranes efficiently. Duties/Responsibilities:
- 5-7 years of crane service technician or relevant trade experience (electrical, mechanical, etc.).
- 1-2 years of experience as a lead technician.
- Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, specifically the ability to troubleshoot and communicate with the team, the organization, and to customers.
- Demonstrate mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills.
- Direct team to perform duties such as inspect, repair/emergency repair, upgrade/modify, install/wire/startup and commission overhead cranes (all manufacturers and types).
- Must be willing to travel and work in production environments, with some overnight travel possible.
- Ability to complete electronic forms in a timely manner.
- Work in extreme conditions (heat/cold).
- Work at heights up to 135 feet with AWP (manlift).
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record a must.
- Pay commensurate with experience.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Working knowledge of general electrical concepts.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Fabrication and rigging a plus.
- Fully successful in leading a team.
- Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk 95% of the workday.
- Ability to push/pull material with equipment assistance.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis; lift 50# on occasion.
- Must have manual dexterity to repair/inspect a crane including bending, stooping, crawling, twist, reach, climbing and reaching.
- Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine).
- Possess depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Must wear safety glasses, gloves, and ear and fall protection
