Digital Health & AI Integration Intern - Consumer Innovation & Intelligence Department: Digital Consumer Growth Team (DCGT), Cone Health Reports To: Manager, Digital Consumer Growth Location: Hybrid - Cone Health Facilities, Community Sites, and Virtual/Remote Data Collaboration Cone Health's Digital Consumer Growth Team is seeking a high-capacity intern who thrives at the intersection of digital engagement, data intelligence, and AI-driven innovation. This hybrid internship role will split its focus between:
1. Direct-to-consumer digital engagement and MyChart activation 2. AI-assisted process improvement, analytics, and data automation
Interns in this role will not only support Cone Health's enterprise-wide digital health access strategy, but will also serve as an innovation accelerator-working on solutions that automate outreach, enhance data visualization, and streamline internal workflows to drive faster, smarter results across the system.
This is a fast-paced, executive-facing internship designed for students who are both people-oriented and data-fluent-ideal for future leaders in healthcare technology, informatics, and system-level transformation. This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date and orientation on 9/15/25. The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.

Consumer Engagement & Digital Health Education (50%) - Deliver in-person and virtual MyChart education, helping patients navigate key features (e.g., appointments, test results, secure messaging, eCheck-in, and proxy access). - Support hospital, clinic, and community events, serving as a digital guide for patients-especially those facing barriers to access such as password resets and account setup. - Assist in executing culturally tailored outreach strategies, particularly to underrepresented communities (e.g., rural southern, multigenerational, and senior populations). - Gather and report engagement metrics (activations, utilization deltas, survey feedback) via Epic, Power BI, and event dashboards. Data & AI Integration for Digital Acceleration (50%)- Collaborate with the DCGT team to identify operational bottlenecks and recommend AI tools or automations to improve digital outreach efficiency. - Develop dashboards or automated workflows using tools such as Power BI, Python, Excel, ChatGPT API, or Microsoft Power Automate to support: - MyChart impact tracking - Event planning logistics - Consumer segmentation - Executive reporting - Explore the use of generative AI for digital script creation, FAQs, virtual assistant prototypes, or staff training modules. - Partner with IT and data analysts to assist in pilot projects around smart automation of MyChart onboarding, proxy workflows, or predictive reporting. |

EDUCATION: |
Currently pursuing a degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE: |
Strong interest in digital health, AI-enabled transformation, and human-centered innovation. - Excellent interpersonal skills and oral presentation ability for engaging with patients, teams, and leadership. - Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and at least one data or automation tool (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python, Tableau, Power Automate). - Ability to think strategically, work autonomously, and communicate complex ideas clearly. Preferred:- Familiarity with Epic MyChart workflows, healthcare data systems, or patient-facing technologies. - Experience with ChatGPT or OpenAI API, LMS systems, or digital assistant platforms. - Exposure to customer segmentation, consumer research, or behavioral analytics. |
