Position Description


Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Medical Integration, this position is responsible for the successful development and accreditation of the Sacramento and San Franciso ambulatory surgery centers, ensures the centers provides quality care and excellent customer service through the performance of the clinical team, ensures quality patient experience, maintains a safe environment for patients.

  • Ambulatory Surgery Center programs

    • Coordinates and supervises development and build of San Francisco Ambulatory Surgery Center
    • Leads and manages AAAHC accreditation of Sacramento and San Francisco ASC
    • Ensures the efficient management of the center, including high levels of productivity and cost-effective supply utilization
    • Assures all daily operations of the facility comply with local, state, federal regulatory requirements, as well as standards established by the accrediting organization; responds to regulatory surveys as required
    • Leads and manages the preparation for program accreditation
    • Provides direction and takes proactive action to achieve the mission and strategic financial and clinical objectives of the facility
    • In conjunction with the medical staff and board, develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the implementation of all policies and procedures to ensure cost effective, safe and high-quality care is implemented
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by Associate Dean for Medical Integration



  • Advanced Education/Graduate Medical Education programs

    • Support development and accreditation of dental residency programs including oral and maxillofacial surgery, pediatric dentistry, and general practice residency programs
    • Support collaboration with community partners such as Sutter Health



Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:

  • Curriculum management as it relates to oral and maxillofacial surgery and hospital dentistry
  • Surgical practices and procedures
  • Providing care for patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Integrated, interprofessional care delivery systems
  • Trends in oral health and oral health education
  • Dental accreditation standards and processes


Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a hospital OR or ASC setting
  • Minimum of 10 years of practice experience
  • Teaching experience in AEGD, GPR, and/or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery programs

Education:


  • DDS/DMD from an ADA-accredited school of dentistry
  • MD from a US accredited school of medicine
  • Completion of an advanced education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Board Certification with American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Licensed or licensure eligible in California

Working Conditions:

  • Position requires coordination of a variety of responsible duties in stressful non-clinical and clinical situations
  • Must be available to work additional hours every weekday and some weekends
  • Significant contact with staff/co-workers, students, residents, patients and their families, other employers, physicians, and their office staff, local hospital team members, and other members of the health care community
  • Regular travel may be required between Sacramento and San Franciso campuses.
  • Routinely deals with proprietary and confidential information

  • Work performed is primarily general office/administrative/direct patient care with frequent use of computer keyboard and phone
  • Requires sitting, standing, bending, walking
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15lbs should be anticipated

Hiring Range $125,000 per year
