Job Description

The Marketing Associate for Special Events and Performing Arts develops and implements marketing strategies to support the College of Arts and Science's special events with a focus on the Concert Series and performing arts. The position works collaboratively with the Director of Events, Engagement & Outreach and the College of Arts & Science's events team to drive ticket sales, increase public awareness, and build audience loyalty and membership.

Essential Functions

  • Create and implement marketing and communication plans for concerts and performing arts events with a focus on big-venue promotions.
  • Produce promotional materials including digital and print advertising, e-newsletters and event announcements, social media content, membership materials, and signage.
  • Maintain and update related website content and ticketing platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a media kit for paid and in-kind transactions with local businesses and media
  • Ensure promotions meets brand standards for external clients, while aligning promotions with Mizzou's brand standards.
  • Analyze marketing campaign effectiveness and audience engagement metrics to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate with program and events team to align messaging and outreach.
  • Attend large-scale events as necessary to support on-site marketing and audience engagement.
Shift

Generally Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM. Occasional evenings and weekends based on events schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in arts, entertainment, events, or higher education marketing.
  • Proficiency in digital and social media marketing.
  • Graphic design and content creation experience.
  • Prior use of constituent relationship management platforms
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary: $26.45 per hour

Grade: GGS - 009
