A Brief Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by a NP/PA as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws:

What you will do




  • Round with inpatient team with ownership of established patients and low complexity
  • Patient care would be done under supervision of an attending physician
  • Low complexity patients may be followed independently after sufficient training is completed
  • Serve as the intake point for new consults and questions for the service
  • Round on heme/onc unit for BMT patients without active ID issues but at high risk for complications
  • Establishment of outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy service to follow discharged patients with PICC lines/home care
  • Multidisciplinary clinics for select outpatient visits with other services (orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiology, etc.) to allow for more convenient follow up times for patients and minimize additional travel
  • Assist in management of growing number of COVID-19 patients with complications such as COVID-19 long haul or multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C)
  • Establish penicillin allergy oral challenge testing process with inpatients and select low risk outpatients

* Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism (5%)

* Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review (5%)
