Summary
The Principal Process Engineer will provide technical process engineering support to both on-going day to day coffee manufacturing operations as well as providing technical process engineering for Capital projects at our La Colombe coffee facility in Norton Shores, MI. The position requires strong technical process experience related to both coffee manufacturing, as well as filing and packaging of coffee products. Principal Project Engineer is a comparable grade level to Director of Process Engineering however, is an individual contributor role and does not have any direct reports. Responsibilities
* Act as a coffee processing subject matter expert with the team in support of the operations, project management, automation, and performance optimization groups. * Define and develop all aspects of processing equipment used in manufacturing of La Colombe coffee products. * Participate in all phases of a project from initial team meetings though pre-award support, proposal generation, installation, commissioning and start up * Provide coffee process guidance and expertise to plant operations, project managers and other functions as necessary. * Support the R&D Innovation team, corporate Quality and Sales & Marketing in the development of processing systems and solutions for La Colombe's customers and consumers. * Interact with operation, marketing, quality, sales and multiple equipment suppliers. * Update and modify various drawings, including P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams. * Manage multiple projects concurrently. * Other duties as assigned. * Occasional travel required to equipment vendors and other Chobani sites. Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering preferred, other engineering degrees considered * 8-10 years of experience in a coffee process engineering role * Experience in coffee processing equipment as well as coffee filling and packaging * Working knowledge of project life cycle deliverables, contract & schedule * May be required to work in a site environment in the presence of heavy equipment, smoke, dust and noise * Proficient in the use Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Project, SEEQ, CAPE or TOPS, and AutoCAD * Pro-activity, personal drive, decisiveness, commercial / business acumen, communication skills, excellent teamwork skills, organizational competency, and the ability to prioritize About Us
