Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Radiology Services Manager is responsible for the operational, clinical, service, administrative, and fiscal management of Imaging services at PCH, all PCN locations, and future locations at 48x and Folsom. This position manages full spectrum operations to ensure quality, patient care, access and budget goals are achieved; manages continuous improvement of departmental clinical and administrative processes and functions.

This position provides visionary leadership to provide maximum effectiveness of imaging services, financial performance, and responsiveness in the health care environment. Acts as liaison for the Health Care System, other government agencies, and private agencies or groups. Responsible for various human resource issues including recruiting, disciplinary action, leaves and contract agreement knowledge. Provides day to day operational oversight and leadership with administrative and faculty members during development and implementation of imaging services in the health network community.

The Radiology Services Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a cohesive work environment, development, and oversight of clinical staff, and ensuring the safe delivery of imaging services.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Possession of a valid technical license or certificate required including one or more of the following: CRT, ARDMS, ARRT.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Demonstrated several years of leadership and/or supervisory/management skills to provide direction and a sense of purpose to departmental staff and to provide innovative solutions to management problems.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience to provide planning, coordinating and direction to departmental staff, and to propose innovative solutions to management problems.
  • Skills and experience to exercise authority and direct and motivate others.
  • Planning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to anticipate, avert or resolve issues of staffing, scheduling and task allocation.
  • Ability to be flexible to maintain continuity of programs while considering individual staff needs and goals.
  • Personnel management skills to include developing position descriptions, recruiting, interviewing, selecting, training, evaluating and disciplining others.
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential office and personnel matters.
  • Knowledge of appropriate staff personnel policies and procedures.
  • Professional effectiveness as demonstrated by the ability to establish clear and challenging goals, and develop effective, realistic long- and short-range plans.
  • Ability to track information and manage schedules and systems in an organized fashion, and exercise reason and sound judgment for informed decisions.
  • Communication skills to convey factual information; to engage in collaborative problem solving and negotiation with staff and colleagues; and to motivate staff for excellent performance and to effectively convey information, concepts, instructions, and ideas in oral and written formats to a variety of audiences with diverse backgrounds, agendas, and levels of knowledge and expertise.

Department Overview

The Department of Radiology is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation providing Imaging Services to adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. Radiology performs a variety of diagnostic exams for the diagnosis of disease processes.

The UC Davis Department of Radiology performs imaging and therapeutic procedures for patients throughout Northern California. Our radiological services are timely, cost-effective, appropriate, and of the highest quality. Routine and specialized imaging studies, visceral and vascular intervention procedures, and contemporary neuro-interventional services are available.

The Department of Radiology serves the broader community by contributing to the understanding of health and disease through our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, imaging, and imaging technology-related clinical and basic science research.

Work Environment
