1.0FTE 40 hours per week, full-time benefits eligible.

Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Job Description Summary:

Oversees the overall operations of Homecare Respiratory services, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective delivery of quality care and services. Manages the activities of and provides supervision for assigned respiratory therapy staff.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

  • Manages clinical operations and ensures the safe and effective delivery of respiratory services and patient care. Coordinates with other NCH departments to promote continuity of care for patients and their families
  • Collaborates to develop and communicate respiratory therapy services operational strategies and objectives based on analysis of industry trends, current resources, and identified needs.
  • Leads multi- and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement clinical programs, policies, and standards, maintaining alignment with departmental and organizational goals and strategies.
  • Evaluates respiratory therapy services by analyzing performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement. Implements evidence-based changes and leads quality, safety, and service initiatives to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Provides clinical leadership and guidance to respiratory care, nursing, and medical staff. Plans, implements, and evaluates the administrative, supervisory, and direct care activities for respiratory therapy staff, ensuring clinical competencies and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees the effective management and delivery of supplies and equipment, collaborating to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and policies.
  • Manages respiratory therapy services financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to achieve optimal patient and family care outcomes.

Education Requirement:

Master's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field, required.

Licensure Requirement:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with licensure to practice in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Certifications:

Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with annual recertification, required.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, negotiation, interpersonal relationship, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and to act as a facilitator and change agent.
  • High level of initiative, self-direction, and accountability for actions.
  • Supervisory and managerial skills to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of staff.

Experience:

  • Three years of experience in direct patient care and management, required.
  • Experience with neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, preferred.
  • Experience in homecare services, preferred.
