Recently, Kate Sanderson has joined CDW as CHRO to lead an exciting HR Transformation to scale and implement leading practice in how we deliver HR services to our coworkers across the globe. The VP HR Business Partner role is a critical role that will report directly to Kate, leading five direct reports and a team of more than 30. The direct reports to this role consist of 2 country HR leaders (Canada and the UK as well as 4 US based business partners who support our US business with their teams). Stepping into the role, the VP, HR Business Partner will be instrumental in leading the Transformation of our HR Business Partner function as we evolve this team to become more strategic/influential and shift less strategic work to our HR shared service team. This leader will be instrumental in evolving the capabilities of this team, building something that is fit for purpose, and creating a well-respected, influential team of HR business partners. Key areas of focus will be to assess the work currently underway in the HR business partner team and determine what should remain in go-forward role of the HR Business Partner and what work should move to a shared service model. The VP will need to assess the current capabilities of the team to determine where we need to enhance talent as well as develop our current team to bring to life the HR Business of the future. The VP, HR Business Partner will have in depth knowledge and experience transforming an HR business partner team in the context of the broader HR function evolving to a more scalable, effective model that leverages shared services. This leader will have the pattern recognition to know how to create, build and transition to this model effectively. A high degree of collaboration and teamwork across the HR function is essential. This leader will know how to work effectively with HR COEs (Talent, Total Rewards, etc) as well as Shared Services (that delivers HR support to our coworkers and managers across the company). The ideal candidate for this role will be a well-experienced HR Business Partner leader who has spent time in best-in-class environments and has an understanding of what great looks like. This leader will understand how to effectively navigate a high degree of change, attract and develop the HR Business Partner of the future and evolve to a new HR model. The leader will be credible with business leaders and bring a strong knowledge of how to credibly partner with the business across all areas of HR Including talent, succession, compensation, recruiting and organizational effectiveness. Experience working at a global, sophisticated large public company will be an asset. Location: ~Two days per week in one of CDW's offices in Chicago, Vernon Hills, or Rosemont. Key Accountabilities
