About the Williams Sonoma Photography Team

You will be part of the Photography team at Williams Sonoma, working in our photo studios in Richmond, CA and on location for photography, and occasionally our brand headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Our team creates photography and video assets to build brand awareness and engagement, amplify brand storytelling, create compelling and innovative content, and build strategic partnerships for the Williams Sonoma Home brand.

Overview of the Senior Photo Producer role

The Senior Photo Producer will manage the production of photography for digital, print and social channels for WSH and WS cooks as needed. The producer is a key partner to the creative director, AD, and merchant team - from pagination through handoff of files to post-production.

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead communication to merchants and producers of photo milestones and timelines for project management.
  • Work proactively prior to each seasonal photo shoot with merchant team, producers and Merchandise Coordinators to ensure all seasonal props and studios are edited and organized for creative teams.
  • Partner with Creative Directors/Art Directors to standardize and document processes and procedures on set for both Producers and Merch Coordinators.
  • Maintain seasonal photo schedule and timelines with input from Creative Directors/Art Directors. Act as the key point person with cross functional partners on all things relating to Seasonal photo shoots and seasonal planning. Producer is involved in the overall timeline from concept to market.
  • Suggest and troubleshoot schedule changes based on sample eta, and any unexpected issues that might arise pre-season and throughout the seasonal photo shoot. Work with Creative Directors to ensure any changes are approved and communicated to teams to keep production flowing.
  • Manage Merchandise Coordinators - both staff MCs and freelance. Both hiring as well as assigning and managing daily tasks of freelance MCs. Lead and train new producers and MCs, ensuring effective team performance and proper resource allocation.

  • Oversee studio and equipment management, including inventory, rentals, and logistics.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance overall workflow efficiency

Pre-Production Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling Personnel: Book MCs for prep, shoot, and post shoot phases.
  • Manage all Pre-Production Calls and rent equipment for photographers and Digitechs, stylists.
  • Arrange all Permits & Parking Travel Arrangements
  • Location Scouting: collaborate with the Art Director on scouting locations for furniture shoots, ensuring suitability., tracking location details such as rates, special requirements, and potential production challenges
  • Lead weekly meetings with Home Merchants to discuss sample timing and address any issues. Maintain and update the visual pagination deck in collaboration with the Home team and AD.

  • Manage sample eta process in partnership with merchants to understand when products are available to shoot. Request, verify, and track samples before the shoot. Oversee sample check-ins and assembly. Supervise the organization, labeling, and packing of samples for photoshoots.

On-set Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily schedules and ensure timely execution of the photoshoot plan.
  • Open location and be point of contact for homeowner or site rep.
  • Communicate shot list to crew daily.
  • Supervise MCs on set, ensuring clarity around the agenda and tasks.
  • Address any on-set issues, homeowner requests, or damage.
  • Oversee catering and craft services for the shoot.
  • Ensure that entire crew has what they need to execute vision successfully.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000 annually. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
