Southern New Hampshire is seeking student employees to fill the role of Virtual Math or Reading Tutor with our partner organization EQPD. Are you passionate about making a difference in K-12 students' lives? Join our team as an Academic Tutor with EQPD where you'll deliver high dosage tutoring in a virtual setting. As a tutor, you'll work closely with students, fostering strong connections while supporting their academic success and having a growth mindset. We offer a comprehensive certification program, ongoing development, and a supportive environment to help you excel in your role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions following EQPD's structured framework
  • Build strong rapport and connections with students to encourage engagement and academic success
  • Support students in Reading (1st-5th grade) or Math (1st-8th grade)
  • Participate in ongoing paid professional learning to enhance tutoring skills
  • Tutor in a fully virtual setting - requiring a computer, webcam, microphone, and a reliable internet connection

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Completion of at least 12 college course credits
  • Strong English language skills
  • Comfortable troubleshooting technical issues
  • Complete EQPD certifications (10-15 hours) after acceptance to the program
  • Distraction free environment
  • Computer and Wifi System Requirements
  • Access to Google Drive, Internet browser software, Email software, Zoom
  • Access to a computer/tablet with a working webcam, microphone, speakers, and reliable internet connection that is necessary for video conferencing (see specific requirements below)

  • Strong organizational skills to follow processes efficiently

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods
  • Must be able to focus on a computer screen for tutoring sessions
  • Virtual work environment with moderate noise levels

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
