Purpose:
The Applications Engineer is responsible for technical product inquiries and application specific customer support. This position partners with the Sales Manager and works directly with the customer to assist in the design and installation of production wafer probe solutions with signal applications from DC to microwave. Product and application training to users of FormFactor products in the field is a key function of this position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provides pre- and post-sale support to customers and sales channel, solving applications requirements for production wafer probe cards.
* Defines application-specific solutions based on customer device data and manages both customer and factory teams to successful results
* Performs product and application training seminars for customers and sales channels.
* Participate in trade shows and seminars.
* Makes recommendations regarding product improvement, new products and quality.
* Provides input on business trends and new product opportunities.
* Sort through multiple demands and independently set priorities based on customer and business dynamics
Education, Experience and Skills required:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics, or equivalent work experience in mechanical/electrical design. Preference will be given to candidates with Master's degree or additional training/education.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or related experience.
* Familiarity with printed circuit board and/or thin film design would be highly advantageous.
* Computer literate, with experience using design and layout software is beneficial in this position.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and with individuals of various degrees of technical knowledge and ability.
The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $104,600 and $137,235. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
