About the Role

Springer Nature works with over 1 million peer reviewers to ensure that the content we publish can be trusted by the academic community. The Reviewer Engagement Assistant supports the day-to-day delivery of initiatives across reviewer recruitment, training, and communications. This role is designed to provide flexible support across the Reviewer Engagement team, with responsibilities spanning content creation, project coordination, data tracking, and community engagement.

Sitting within a collaborative and mission-driven team, the Reviewer Engagement Assistant plays a key role in ensuring reviewers are effectively supported and engaged throughout their journey with Springer Nature. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about contributing to a fast-paced, researcher-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the operational delivery of reviewer engagement activities, including coordinating meetings, maintaining calendars, and managing communication workflows

  • Manage team inboxes, shared folders, internal documentation, and tools to ensure smooth coordination

  • Provide data entry, basic reporting, and analysis to track progress across engagement, training, and recruitment goals

  • Assist in the development and delivery of internal and external reviewer communications such as newsletters, updates, and event messaging

  • Coordinate reviewer-facing campaigns by gathering content, updating mailing lists, and ensuring timely delivery

  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather communication inputs, support editorial calendars, and maintain consistent messaging

  • Maintain and promote training resources across internal and external platforms; gather feedback to support continuous improvement

  • Assist in delivering engagement initiatives aimed at early career researchers and underrepresented communities

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Publishing, Editorial, Product, and Marketing teams to support cross-functional goals

  • Participate in team meetings, track actions, and ensure consistency in reviewer-facing materials and content libraries

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Experience

  • Experience in administrative, communications, publishing, academic, or project support role

  • Exposure to working in a team-based environment with cross-functional collaboration

  • Familiarity with creating or editing written content for professional audiences

  • Experience with data entry, spreadsheets, and basic analysis or reporting (e.g. using Excel or Google Sheets)

  • Comfortable using shared tools and platforms (e.g. Google Drive, Microsoft Office, CMS, or newsletter software)

  • Experience supporting events, campaigns, or community initiatives (desirable but not essential)

Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

  • Collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork

  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems

Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in a relevant discipline

  • Additional certifications in administration or management (desirable, not essential)

US Annualized Base Salary Range: $45,000 - 60,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
