Job Description

The Opportunity

In alignment with University policies and procedures, Academic Evaluators are responsible for analyzing student records and evaluating prior credit for active undergraduate and graduate students. Evaluations are conducted to determine applicability toward degree requirements, ensuring accuracy and consistency across academic programs.

Responsibilities include:
- Manage a continuous, high-volume caseload of documents submitted through the Imaging Workflow system, applying independent judgment and complex academic policies.
- Evaluate transfer credit for degree applicability.
- Produce accurate advising reports and maintain up-to-date student records to support exceptional student service.
- Collaborate with a dynamic, high-performing team to meet evaluation turnaround time expectations.
- Maintain working knowledge of academic curricula across multiple catalog years.
- Participate in team and Registrar's Office meetings and serve on committees to represent departmental interests.
- Assist with departmental projects and system testing during new implementations or updates.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, including those outlined in the Academic Policies and Procedures Manual (APPM), Policy and Operations Manual (POM), Curriculum Standards Manual (CSM), and academic catalogs.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (Associates Degree or relevant evaluator experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree)

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in learning and operating a variety of University computer systems and software following a brief orientation. This includes foundational knowledge of technology principles, software applications, video conferencing platforms, and document imaging systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in applying complex policies and procedures.
  • Strong comprehension skills to interpret and apply institutional policies and procedures accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • 1-3 years related professional experience
