Presbyterian Healthcare is hiring a Manager-Food Service Operations to oversees the daily operations of the hospital s food service function. Oversees, plans, coordinates, and manages patient nutrition care activities complying with standards established by regulatory agencies and PHS. Establishes quality and food safety standards for foods and kitchen environment, in accordance with regulatory agencies and PHS. Familiar with a variety of practices, concepts, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the unit. Handles human resource concerns, scheduling, peer relationships, patient interactions, financial goals, ordering, receiving, and inventory

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma and 5 years relevant experience or an Associates degree with strong Food & Nutrition knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with patients, customers and support staff.
  • Ability to write letters, summaries and reports.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, statistics.
  • Requires management and leadership skills and ability to work with confidential employee and patient information. ServSafe certified (may obtain certification within 6 months of job assignment.)


Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages department standards, programs, and policies including patient nutrition services office activities. This includes coordinating and directing patient service activities, including participation in planning and implementation of appropriate staffing levels. This includes processing nutrition care orders, menu correction and communication to ensure compliance with policies and standards, as well as maintenance of an effective, efficient and responsive office.

  • Assists in the performance planning process for all designated unit employees cooks, supervisors, food service workers, and diet aides. Coaches team for success. Interviews, selects and trains employees within the department. Participates in team interviews with other Food & Nutrition Services managers. Maintains retention guidelines.

  • Maintains accurate and required statistical data (human resource requisitions and paperwork), time reports, work flows, DOL, invoices, transfers, cash handling reports, sales reports, and all monthly/annual financial reports. Responsible for Quality Control Monitors, such as Food and Equipment Temperature logs, HACCP logs, recipe compliance logs, taste testing, Problem/Resolution logs, Test Tray Evaluation, Meal Rounds, Trayline Accuracy Checks, Trayline Temperature Logs, Snack Delivery lists, QAPI reports, Cash Audits, Safe Audits, and rounding logs Involved in the budget process.
