Apply today to be a Plate Mounter with one of the most innovative and trusted packaging companies in the world. Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Plate Mounter for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. This is a 2nd shift position from 3pm-11pm (Mon - Fri).

Responsibilities:

Quality:

* Using the job jacket, design specifications, and color key/sample, verifies the accuracy of information prior to mounting to eliminate mistakes, which negatively affect waste, downtime, and customer returns.

* Performs visual inspection of plate looking for defects, bubbles, solvent stains and holes to maximize print quality.

* After reviewing pertinent information as described above, determines the best way to mount the job to maximize press efficiencies.

* Verifies accuracy of registration, print quality and adhesion of plates prior to going to press to eliminate press downtime and waste due to plates.

* Learn the PRISM system and accurately provide data to PRISM in support of materials management and consideration to cost.

Productivity:

* Maintains spirit of cooperation within the team and with other associates to provide effective team support to ensure maximum efficiency.

* Gives input on appropriate changes to new or existing mount jobs.

* Orders materials needed for jobs scheduled, as necessary.

* Maintain a solid work ethic and enthusiasm as time goes on, own the process, come to work ready to work and seek out the plan of the day. Display a long term positive attitude and use this to find excellence and work through issues as they arise.

Safety:

* Maintains work area in a clean and safe manner consistent with Printpack and Grand Prairie policies and procedures in compliance with all Printpack and plant-related safety policies and practices.

* Safety conscious and puts safety first in their daily routine. Safety is placed before risk (focus over accomplishment). Associate has a focus on their own safety and sets a safety example for their crew, new associates, and anyone in the plant. Associate is committed to Safety policies by suggesting improvements and noting deficiencies.

Waste:

* Previews job materials to determine most efficient way to minimize waste.

* Cleans and stores used plate to prevent damage.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Plate and/or Press department experience is preferred

  • Working knowledge of PRISM

  • Ability to read and apply information found in a design spec and job jacket

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure

  • Ability to be self-directed and multitask

  • Ability to follow directions

  • Have strong computer skills

  • Must be detail oriented and able to follow job checklists

  • Able to work any shift
