SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES The Merchant Services Representative I will be responsible for representing South State Bank Merchant Services in the development of new accounts and the expansion of existing accounts at South State Bank. With a focus on one of South State Bank's established geographic regions, she/he will directly interact with business owners to review their card payment acceptance needs and to align South State Bank Merchant Services solutions to meet those needs. She/he will partner with Branch Managers, Commercial Bankers, and Treasury Management Sales Officers as necessary to develop sales leads from existing bank customers and to identify opportunities for new prospects. The Merchant Services Representative I will provide professional, consultative sales of Merchant Services solutions and will significantly influence client decisions in selecting solutions that help businesses succeed in the collection of card payments. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES Required annual compliance training. Complete all the necessary Processing education. Attend one conference per year within the industry. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk. WORK ENVIRONMENT Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. TRAVEL Travel is not required in this role |
