Alan B. Miller Medical Center opening in Spring 2026!

A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The new state-of-the-art hospital will join UHS' growing regional network of healthcare operations which includes Wellington Regional Medical Center, the ER at Westlake (an extension of Wellington Regional Medical Center), Wellington Physicians Urgent Care and other healthcare services and access points. The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.

Director, Quality Management

Responsible for the 24-hour management and oversight of the Quality department, Risk Management, and Infection Control to ensure the facility meets all regulatory, state, and corporate standards. Plans, organizes, and directs the work of an integrated, interdisciplinary, professional staff that monitors and evaluates a QA/RM program within the Hospital.

  • Responsible for interpreting federal and state requirements and developing and implementing QA/RM operating structures, policies, procedures, and reports to monitor practices and practitioner performance in delivering clinical services and providing non-clinical support.
  • Collaborates with clinical managers, department directors and facility executive team staff to establish QA/RM goals, objectives, standards, and criteria to identify and minimize high risk issues and measure the quality and appropriateness of patient care against Core Measures.
  • Communicates and collaborates with others within and outside the organization to facilitate continually and coordination of quality improvement services, including, but not limited to, pharmacy, care management, hospitalists, organized medial groups, health plans, independent physicians, and hospital staff. Acts as a liaison and primary contact for outside agencies related to health outcome information.
  • Oversight of a non-clinical and clinical interdisciplinary team responsible for facility infection control, quality assurance and risk management programs and other related functions.
  • Oversight of all unit/department personnel includes interviewing and hiring, ongoing evaluation of performance, educating or process/policies, and motivating, directing, and engaging for high level performance.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Officer-Risk Manager to develop and maintain an effective risk management program, including required staff training and compliance audits. Oversee the infection prevention program, ensuring adherence to infection control standards and protocols to minimize healthcare-associated infections.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • BSN from an accredited educational institution required. MS in nursing or master's degree in related field from an accredited educational institution preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in quality assurance, risk management, and infection prevention in an acute care setting. Ten years preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' management experience in progressive leadership positions.
  • Experienced in the use of statistical, security adjustment and benchmarking software and databases.

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of Joint Commission standards, NPSGs, state and federal standards, Value-Based Purchasing Initiatives, Core Measures, and HCAHPS.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of PI methodology and Outcome Management. Proficient with Root Cause Analysis methodology.
  • Expert knowledge of health and safety management strategies, quality assurance, quality improvement and continuous improvement methodologies and tools. Knowledge of healthcare facility operations, functions, and staffing requirements.
  • Knowledge of medical/professional staff by-laws and governing board issues.
  • Knowledge of insurance and loss control theory and practice in a healthcare environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and procedures for the investigation and processing of professional liability/ medical malpractice claims.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge Microsoft Office products and Cerner (preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

License / Certification:

  • Current licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida required.
  • Certified Professional in Health Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
