Unit Operations Coordinator

Position Summary:

The unit operations coordinator provides comprehensive support for unit operations and leadership, ensuring smooth coordination and effective management across assigned units. Serve as a key liaison to volunteer leaders, delivering guidance on governance, compliance, and membership matters. Support Membership Program initiatives beyond core unit responsibilities, offering coverage to fellow coordinators and traveling to APS and unit meetings as needed, apply today!

Responsibilities:

Administrative Assistance:



  • Maintain and update unit officer resources within the online community platform.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of unit officer nominations, elections, and professional conduct disclosures.
  • Respond to unit requests for membership data and reports.
  • Track and maintain accurate data on elected executive committee volunteers.
  • Compile and distribute quarterly unit performance and statistics reports.
  • Partner with the Corporate Governance Team and Membership Leadership to ensure compliance with governance policies and bylaws.
  • Design and deliver training and educational resources to support volunteer unit leaders.
  • Coordinate logistics and attend APS meetings, providing on-site support as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Membership Program by completing other duties as assigned.


Education:


  • High school graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) required.




Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of one year of operations, or customer service experience and or relevant related work experience is required.
  • Familiarity with databases and/or a Customer Management System (CRM) (e.g. Salesforce) is preferred.
  • Experience working with databases and/or an Association Management System (AMS) (e.g. Nimble) is preferred
  • Familiarity with data management, data analysis, and data reporting preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills; ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics, develop operational materials, and support processes that drive program success.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel), Google Workspace, and Zoom.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Asana is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
  • Customer-centric and solutions-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and evolving schedules.


Travel:

This position requires up to 10% travel to attend events and meetings, including travel to APS offices in Long Island, NY; Washington DC; and College Park, MD, as well as other off-site locations for periodic meetings and training sessions. Additional travel may be required as assigned by the supervisor.

Salary:

The salary range for this position takes into account various factors influencing compensation decisions, such as skill sets, experience, training, and other business and organizational requirements. The salary listed within the specified ranges considers relevant experience. Our compensation philosophy at APS aims to maintain salaries at the midpoint of the market. As a result, we typically hire within the target starting range. Exceptional, rare cases may merit reviews above target starting range for specialized or niche skills aligned with strategic operational goals.

Hiring Range:$49,920/year - $70,196/year (USD)

Target Starting Range:$49,920/year - $57,316/year (USD)

Work Environment:

As noted above, APS offers a "Remote First" workplace. Although our offices are located on Long Island, NY, College Park, MD and Washington DC, you can work from other places in the United States. We are flexible about work hours, but expect responsiveness during the core of the workday, Eastern Time.
