Job Description

Job Summary:

Mercury Systems is seeking aSenior Contracts Manager to support our Integrated Processing Solutions (IPS) business contract management. This position requires a deep understanding of US Government and Department of Defense contracting practices. It is vital that this individual has the capabilities to work both independently as a strong individual contributor as well as a leader and team player to achieve the best contractual outcomes for our organization. It necessitates excellent leadership and problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach driven to ensure execution of even the most complex contractual challenges.

The Senior Contracts Manager will be required to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines. This individual will provide expert knowledge to assist business leaders with customer relationships, risk analysis with mitigation strategies, regulations, contract negotiations. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work well with others as part of an integrated program team in high-pressure with high-volume situations, effectively interface with internal matrixed organizations as well as meet the goals/objectives of the business.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Manage Contracts supporting Line of Business
  • Leading through the entire contracting lifecycle from solicitation to contract close-out
  • Reviews complex solicitations and prepares specialized/non-routine proposal responses in conjunction with proposal team
  • Reviews and approves contractual documents for adherence to customer specifications/requirements, compliance with Terms and Conditions, applicable FAR/DFARS clauses, special provisions and adherence to company policy and procedures
  • Drafts, reviews, redlines and negotiates customer agreements, including master agreements, with the objective of protecting the Company's interests
  • Advises leadership and program teams on complex contract issues, contractual rights, obligations, intellectual property protections, organization conflicts of interest and general risks and mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain contracting policies/processes that provide governance of contracting practices as well as provide guidance on contracting terms and conditions
  • Maintains deadlines for customer requests; analyzes and tracks contract compliance
  • Enters contract data into databases as required
  • Interfaces directly with Government contracting officials, prime contractor procurement representatives and internally, interfaces with Contracts team members, Legal, Program Management, Capture, Finance, Pricing, Proposal, Property, Quality, Engineering and other functional staff as needed


Required Qualification:



  • Bachelors in business, Management, or other related field
  • Ideally 12+ years of directly related experience in Contract Administration/Business Management/Finance role with USG, Prime, International and Commercial contracts
  • Experience with standard defense contract types such as Cost Reimbursable (CR), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF), Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Materials (T&M), incentive-type contracts, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), etc. and with all phases of contracting from pre-solicitation through completion/termination and contract closeout
  • Subject matter expert with US Government regulations (FAR/DFARs) required, with emphasis in acquisitions governed by Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Products and Services and Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation
  • Provide strong analytical, financial, problem solving and negotiation skills.Must exemplify a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Outlook) as well as Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Travel as needed; estimated at 25%
  • Must be eligible to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:



  • US Government Security Clearance, Secret or higher
  • Shall establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers to include management, technical and functional counterparts to communicate project status
  • Expected to coordinate and support audit activities with Prime, Government or other agencies


Location:



  • Strong preference for candidate to live in commutable range to our office location at 1845 W 205th St., Torrance CA 90501. This position is hybrid.



Salary Transparency:

Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $126,500 - $227,700 for a Sr. Prin. / Sr. Manager at Torrance, CA



  • The disclosed salary range is a general guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed above and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees.
