Working in WSECUs Mortgage Servicing department you will be responsible for assigning tasks within the Loss Mitigation Team of Mortgage Servicing. You'll be providing servicing support as it relates to collections on past due mortgage and home equity loans and assisting members with foreclosure prevention alternatives (FPAs). You'll be performing assigned tasks accurately, efficiently and performing member service requests as necessary. Ready to learn more!

Your day may include:

  • Working as an active member of the Loss Mitigation and General Servicing phone queues.
  • Providing back up coverage and support for Loss Mitigation including, but not limited to, preparing forbearance, modification trial, payment deferral, and repayment plan agreements.
  • Assisting with the Bankruptcy and Foreclosure processes.
  • Processing credit disputes in a timely manner.
  • Initiating outbound collection calls on delinquent loans regarding past due payments.
  • Processing mortgage payments and special handling Loss Mitigation payments.
  • Educating and assisting members with foreclosure prevention alternatives to resolve their delinquency.
  • Demonstrating compassion and understanding to economically challenged borrowers.
  • Preparing and mailing out various notices, letters, statements, and routine mailings to borrowers.
  • Providing courier duties and support with incoming and outgoing documents and mail delivery.
  • Providing clerical support with document imaging preparation, document custody filing and tracking and provides back-up support to other areas of the Mortgage Servicing Department.
  • Complying with internal requirements, and industry regulations such as RESPA, TILA, FACTA, FDCPA, and SCRA.

What you would bring to the team:

  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in an office environment or in a service-related position
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in real estate loan collection activities

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with and knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, USDA, and/or WSECU investor servicing guidelines.
  • Experience or familiarity with the mortgage industry and mortgage-related documents.
  • Experience and knowledge of state and federal regulations governing "general and/or loss mitigation" mortgage servicing activities.
  • Experience in customer service, communication, and accounting.
  • Experience with FICS, Symitar, and/or Temenos system platforms.

Competitive pay: $26.64 - $39.96 per hour, dependent on relevant qualifications, plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits package

  • The target starting pay for this position is $26.64 - $33.30 per hour, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant's pay history into account.
  • The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increase during their tenure in the position.

Position location: 400 Union Ave, Olympia WA. Employee must reside and perform all work in the state of Washington. This is a hybrid position that blends working in-office and from home. Works onsite at least one (1) or two (2) days per week.

Working from home/hybrid requirements:

  • Reliable, high-speed home internet connection
  • Private, confidential workspace, away from distractions and other people
  • Suitable desk/surface and desk chair

When you'd work: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30pm, full time minimum 40 hours per week with scheduling flexibility to meet service needs this non-exempt position
