Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Line Crew Supervisor to work on our Power Management Lineman team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities with every Friday off.

You lead and manage the Power Management line crew and uphold the INL and Power Management values in all aspects of work performed. You will report directly to the manager of the Power Management department.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Supervise Lineman activities ensuring safe work practices are executed in the field by routinely performing field observations and feedback to the line crew.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and work control documents.
  • Approve timecards, prepare daily work schedules, assign work, and facilitate the safe execution of work by providing the necessary tools and parts.
  • Coordinate between linemen and engineering personnel to identify resolutions to technical issues and questions.
  • Perform walkdowns of maintenance work with the planner/engineer to identify safety concerns and hazards with the appropriate mitigations.
  • Implement and enforce work control policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with facility tenants, research programs, and facility management to ensure proper coordination of maintenance and operation activities.
  • Ensure appropriate records are maintained and reports are issued accurately and timely.
  • Monitor the condition of line work heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and digger derricks. Work closely with on-site vehicle maintenance personnel to ensure timely repairs and maintenance is performed.
  • Work closely with department manager to set work priorities for work execution, requests from other organizations and emergencies on the INL power system, including wildland fires.
  • Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
  • Coordinate mentoring, on-the-job training (OJT), and professional development of lineman and apprentice personnel.
  • When assigned, perform on-call duties and responsibilities outside of normal work hours, weekends and backshifts.
  • Work closely with procurement personnel to ensure parts are available for planned maintenance activities and emergency repairs.
  • Conduct daily meeting to discuss work assignments, safety topics, lessons learned, training, and other information provided by the senior leadership team and the department manager.
  • Report issues and events to upper-level management in a timely manner following INL issues reporting guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Completion of trade school, on-the- job training, or apprenticeship plus 9-years electrician work experience or 5 years lineman experience.
  • Journeyman certification required.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:



  • The target pay range for this position is ($95,418 - $147,041) annually. The full pay range is ($78,828 - $181,296). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP-Testing Designated Position: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.


Physical Requirements:



  • While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
