Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Department Manager, Analysis to work on our Analysis team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

Lead and manage a growing team of Intelligence Analysts, who play a critical role in the execution of programs and projects for the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Intelligence Community. Develop, strengthen, and grow analytic capabilities. Oversee the application and implementation of Intelligence Community Directives and requirements. Inform the organizational strategy and help in identifying and building future programs. Develop and improve operational policies and procedures for the team. Requires detailed functional expertise and broad organizational knowledge.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Manage the activities of a department or a discipline through subordinate supervisors and/or professionals.
  • Provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Responsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to the organization. Decisions impact
  • others in the immediate team and influences methods and techniques.
  • Execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce planning. Ensure that budgets,
  • schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
  • Typically manage employees who perform similar tasks. May manage supervisors, exempt, and non-exempt staff.
  • Receive objective based assignments and determine resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Responsible for single function, location, and/or technical discipline.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect department or multiple disciplines.
  • Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the department and possibly the
  • division.
  • Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group professionals,
  • involving matters between sections and multiple units.
  • Partner with key contacts outside own area of expertise and other external stakeholders.
  • Communicate and present results and recommendations across discipline.
  • Third level of management with human resource responsibilities. Typically, all work is performed through the
  • management of others.
  • Position typically reports to a direct report of a Director, Sr. Director, or Senior Leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Requires a Bachelors Degree and 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience as an intelligence analyst with 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience building and leading teams.
  • Experience growing and managing programs for the Department of Energy, Department of Defense,
  • Department of Homeland Security, and/or the Intelligence Community.
  • Experience with and an understanding of Intelligence Community Directives.
  • Experience building and leading teams, DOD, DHS, and/or DOE experience, experience with the fundamentals of analysis, analysis experience in the Control Systems Cybersecurity Space, history of building analytic programs, and preferably experience with application of analysis to critical infrastructure protection.
  • Application of intelligence experience to the control systems cybersecurity mission is preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" / SCI clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:



  • The target pay range for this position is $154,733 - $231,971 annually. The full pay range is $105,516 - $269,052. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
