The Economics of Transformative AI Initiative (EconTAI) is a new research forum at the University of Virginia, led by Anton Korinek, Professor in the Department of Economics. Our mission is to research the economic implications of advanced AI and policies to navigate the transition. The initiative is seeking a Manager or Associate Director to support its mission. Physicals Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with education, experience and FTE. Position Type & Work Location: This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits. For candidates focused on administrative and operational responsibilities, this position is at the Manager level and is part-time (20 hours/week, 0.5 FTE). For candidates with research qualifications (Master's degree required), the position may be at the Associate Director and full-time (40 hours/week, 1.0 FTE) with additional research coordination responsibilities. Funding Details: This is a restricted position and continuation is dependent upon the availability of the position, funding, and satisfactory performance. Work Arrangement: This position will be located on-site with a possible hybrid option over time and includes occasional travel for event support.
