Responsible for providing direct care to patients with psychiatric disorders, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients by supporting the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu. Also responsible for providing leadership and direction to more junior staff based upon experience and special training in various areas of mental health service delivery.
Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients. -Advocate for patients who may be vulnerable or need additional support. -Parent/Family counseling, including Parent Management Training and Family Systems interventions -Give input on overall structure of treatment program. -Adheres to guidelines for patients on special status (i.e. suicide, sexual abuse or AWOL precautions). -Provides accurate information on shift-to-shift report and remains on the unit while incoming shift is in report. -Monitor quality of services provided to enrollees -Displays professional boundaries in relationships with patients at all times. -Complete and file all documentation as required in a timely manner.
